Not to sell at you: to hear who’s actually coming, and tell you which parts won’t work before you’ve paid for them. Almost nobody else in this business asks for that call, and it’s the reason our trips land the way they do.
That’s only possible because we’re small, and we do one thing. We don’t sell all of Costa Rica from a downtown office — we plan one route, one family at a time. It starts in La Fortuna, at the foot of Arenal, where we live and where our own homes are. From there it runs to the cloud forest and down to the Pacific, and we’ve walked every step of it ourselves.

This is the part nobody else does, and it’s the part that makes the difference. Face to face, Marco walks the route with you, hears who’s actually coming, and tells you what won’t fit — before you’ve paid for it. Planning a country you’ve never seen over text messages is how people end up with the wrong trip.

We design your trip
A day-by-day itinerary built around what you told him on that call, using only partners that passed our vetting — the eight that survived our Arenal study, and the ones we’ve since held to the same line in every other region. We revise it until it’s right.

We book everything
Your stay, guides, every activity, all transfers — arranged and paid as one transparent price, with nothing left to settle at the gate.

We stay with you
Your designer stays with you through the trip — quick answers while we’re working, and a number to call if something can’t wait, day or night — ready to reshape a day or solve a surprise while you’re still here to enjoy the fix.

William Villegas — founder
William started this company, and he owns the five homes at the foot of the volcano your trip is built around. He’s been hosting travelers in them for nine years, holding Superhost status the whole time — a public record you can go and read before you message us. Destitrip exists because he’d already spent a decade doing the hard half: being judged, in public, under his own name, by strangers who stayed in his house.
Marco Villegas — your call
Marco is the one you’ll actually talk to. Not a chat window and not a form: a video call, face to face, where he walks your trip with you and tells you what won’t fit before you’ve paid for it.
