Tailored quote
priced once we know what you actually want
Some trips don’t fit a template.
They land, drive three hours to the volcano, and spend four days watching it appear and disappear behind its own weather. It’s a good four days. Then they fly home believing they’ve seen the country — when what they’ve seen is the first chapter.
The cloud forest and the Pacific are the other two. They’re the reason people come back a second time to do it properly. This is the trip that doesn’t make you come back twice.
What usually goes wrong
The nine-day Costa Rica trip is the one travelers get wrong most often. Either they cram in six stops and spend the week in a van, or they park in one town and spend the flight home wondering what was over the mountain. And nobody tells them about the drives until the morning of. Pieced together from three time zones away, you only find out which mistake you made after you’ve landed. There is a version that doesn’t do that to you. It took 62,000 reviews to find it.

What you get instead
This is that version, and we didn’t guess at it — we read what 62,000 travelers actually said about what worked and what wasted their time. Four nights at the volcano, where everything worth doing is thirty minutes from your door. Then a morning crossing Lake Arenal by boat, into a cloud forest that looks like nowhere else on earth. Then down to where the rainforest runs straight into the Pacific — and the last full day is a national park at sunrise and a catamaran at sunset. Three places. Two drives. No filler. Here is every single thing that’s in it.
How it works
From idea to itinerary, usually in a day or two
You tell us the truth
Who’s coming, how many days you really have, and what you actually enjoy — plus what you don’t want, which matters more than what you do.
We tell you the truth
What fits in your days and what doesn’t. Which region earns its drive time for your group and which one you’re only visiting out of obligation. The honest trade-offs, before you pay for them.
You get one price
A full itinerary with every partner, every transfer and every night, and one all-in number with no line you didn’t approve. Adjust it as many times as you want — that’s what this is for.
Included experiences
Some of what you can build with
A sample of the menu, not a fixed list — rafting, chocolate, the canopy, the wildlife. Yours won’t look like anyone else’s.

Wildlife & Sloths
The #1 reason travelers remember Arenal — sloths, birds and frogs, with a guide who spots what you’d walk right past.

Arenal Volcano
The volcano up close, hanging bridges and the Lake Tabacón — the views that put La Fortuna on the map.

Coffee & Chocolate Farm
Roast, grind and taste real Costa Rican cacao on a family farm. The hands-on experience the big operators skip.

Hot Springs
Naturally heated rivers at the foot of the volcano — the reset every Arenal trip is built around.

Canopy & Zip-line
Fly over the canopy — a gentle double cable course for families, a 1 km line for the brave.

Rafting & Canyoning
Whitewater and waterfall rappels with safety-audited operators. Adrenaline, done right.

Monteverde Cloud Forest
Primary cloud forest with a naturalist. The forest appears and disappears around you while you stand still.

Manuel Antonio Park
Sloths and capuchins where the rainforest walks onto the sand – worth double with a guide, and half without.

Catamaran & Sunset
The Pacific on the last evening, from the water. We put it at the end of the route on purpose.

What this trip looks like

Whatever shape it takes
What’s included
A real conversation, not a form and a wait
An itinerary built around your dates, pace and group
The same hand-vetted partners as every other Destitrip trip
Your choice of stay — a private home, or a hotel from our vetted list
One all-in price, with every line explained
A real coordinator who answers in under 15 minutes while we’re working — plus a number to call if it’s urgent, day or night
Vetted, not guessed
Why these partners
Custom doesn’t mean we open the door to whoever’s free that week. It means we rearrange the same short list around you.
The same vetted list
Every trip, custom or not
The eight that survived Arenal, plus whoever has since cleared the same bar in the other regions. A custom trip doesn’t get you access to more operators — it gets you a different arrangement of the ones we’d already stake our name on.
Your own private home,
or a hotel
Where you stay
Private homes are how we do it by default, and it’s why our trips cost what they do. But if a hotel is what you want, we have vetted ones and no opinion about it.
How we price this
We don’t compete on being cheap, and we don’t mark up the handling. Every activity in your trip is billed at the operator’s own published rate — the same number you’d pay walking up to their desk yourself. What you’re not charged for is the part that took us months: reading 62,000 reviews to work out which desks are worth walking up to, and being there at seven in the morning when it’s raining on day three.
There’s no price on this page because there shouldn’t be. Tell us what you’re planning and Marco builds you a real number on a video call, with every line explained.
Before you ask
Questions, answered
No — and sometimes it’s the cheaper answer. Cutting a region you were only visiting out of obligation takes real money off the total, and we’d rather tell you that than quietly sell you the extra nights. What custom never does here is add a fee for the privilege: you pay for the trip, not for the word.
You’ll get an instant reply on WhatsApp and book a short video call with Marco. The itinerary and the number come out of that call — usually within a day or two, depending on how many moving parts you’ve given us.
That’s the normal case. Tell us who’s coming and roughly when — we’ll ask the rest. Most people’s real answer comes out in the conversation, not the form.
“We had six days and three generations. They told us to drop a region we’d have insisted on, and they were right.”
Risk-free
Our launch guarantee: Transparent Price + Real Response
Your price includes everything. If a cost you weren’t told about ever shows up, we cover it. And once you’re here, a real person answers in under 15 minutes while we’re working — with a number to call for anything urgent, day or night.
Fully custom
Ready to plan your Costa Rica trip?
Tell us who’s coming and what you love. You’ll get an instant reply on WhatsApp and book twenty minutes with Marco on video — he walks the route and tells you honestly what fits. No obligation, and no charge for the truth.
One honest note on timing. What we’re describing — Marco on a video call with you, one coordinator who knows your whole trip and your name, someone reachable every day you’re there — only works at small numbers. Past a certain point we’d become the kind of company we built this one to avoid. Add five homes at the foot of the volcano that hold eighteen people, and a December-to-April calendar that goes to whoever asks first, and that’s the whole limit. No countdown. Just a ceiling we keep on purpose.
